Veterinary Technician
BSN is seeking a full-time, licensed veterinary technician to join our team that loves working with the public, enjoys animals and be able to multi-task in a busy office environment. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented, self-motivated staff member, with good communication skills, a positive attitude, and dedication to client service and education. Prior experience with eVet Practice is a huge plus. Must have good attention to detail and be able to multi-task
All applicants must be able to perform all of the typical duties expected of an experienced Technician:
Responsabilities
- All aspects of surgical preparations
- Proper restraint of animals
- Assisting doctor in exams & administering treatments and diagnostic testing
- Anesthetic induction and anesthesia monitoring
- Running lab tests (cytology’s, urinalysis, fecal, heartworm)
- In-house and reference laboratory blood analysis
- Administering vaccines
- Retrieving and accurately relaying patient histories
Technicians are expected to be client-education oriented and ready to satisfy the needs of clients, and they are an integral part in relaying important patient care information between the pet-owners and the Veterinarian.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education, and/or experience.
- Two or more years of experience with veterinary appointments performing above duties
- Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, that requires a lot of lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion.
- Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors.
- Bilingual applicants required (English and Spanish).
- Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work some weekends and holidays.
Wages for this position will commensurate with experience.

Front Desk Recepcionist

Brownsville Spay Neuter Clinic is looking for a Receptionist to join our team and learn about the basics of animal care?
The ideal candidate will deliver a professional and qualified first impression to all visitors. This person has excellent communication and customer service skills. He/she has a basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures/systems and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
Responsabilities
* Guest services
– Welcome guests, employees, and clients who arrive at the office and clarify the purpose of their visit and who they want to see. Answer all phone calls and emails sent to the main office and provide inter-office messages as requested.
* Administration
– Send out and receive mail, documents, supplies, and packages. Distribute items to mailboxes and offices as requested. Maintain office supplies and reorder as needed. Maintain an organized filing system and schedule appointments as required.
Requirements:
- Bilingual
- No allergies to animals
- Associates degree is preferred
- A high school diploma is required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Reliable, professional, courteous, and patient
- Excellent communication and writing skills
